Vöcanic sparks early sales of StarHub’s SmartTV:

Client Challenge: Starhub launches Smart TV, the first intelligent set-top box in Singapore. It integrates the program guide for easy programming and allows viewers to watch one channel while they record a program on another channel. This was a new category of hard disc DVR + set-top box in Singapore with a complex set of benefits and a premium price.

Vöcanic Solution: With its unique Groundswell™ technology, Vöcanic identified people with the power to influence and a large social network and provided them with discounted Smart TV boxes. Vöcanic devised unique marathon party packages for the World Cup and the showing of all 6 Star Wars movies. With these Marathon Party packs Smart TV Influencers had everything they needed to throw a TV content oriented party, giving them an opportunity to show off and talk about Smart TV. Vöcanic also initiated a “recommend a friend” campaign that enables current SmartTV customers to offer their friends a promotional offer not available to the public.

Result: StarHub beat their initial expectations for the early uptake of SmartTV.

Vöcanic boosts loyalty of Heineken drinkers

Client Challenge: Heineken faced growing competition from new brands of beer and other alcoholic beverages. The company wanted to use music to connect with a younger crowd.

Client Challenge: New i-mode phone service came to Singapore and needed to push its way into a market already crowded with other 3G options. Customers needed to purchase a proprietary i-mode enabled handset, and only NEC phones were available. How can Starhub convince customers that I-mode really offers advantages and is worth switching?
